I've been wanting to post these patterns for a bit.  I"ve had these 2 vintage patterns for awhile now, always thinking that I would try my punch needle on them but alas, they're still in there package unopened.  So here are two Aunt Lydia's patterns for punch needle or rug hooking.

PINCUSHION TUESDAY

I can't beleive its already pincushion Tuesday.  Before I begin, I just want to say thank you to the folks out there that have bought my pincushions so far.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them.  I'm very picky on the china cups or creamers that I buy to make my pincushions with and I've  been having trouble finding that perfect one that will turn into a pincushion.  So this weekend I decided to sew some pincushion from the loads of wool that I have on hand and they turned out pretty good.  So for this week until I find that little porcelain masterpiece, I"ve made flower pincushions.
These little flowers mesure about 3 1/2" in diameter and about 1 3/4" high.  The two sides were machine sewn together from wool material so they will not dull your needles going in the pincushion. Each has a cute little button to make the center flower. They really were a treat to make.

On a different note,  I"ve been working on a small insert mat with my new Snapdragon frame, wich I love, love, love.  So hopefully will have that up for sale by the weekend.

PINCUSHION TUESDAY ***SOLD***

Sorry everyone for posting this so late tonight but its been a busy day here.  But I still haven't forgot about Pincushion Tuesday, so here it is.
This is a hand painted from japan item with a cute little birdy on a tree stump.  It has been needle felted with a dark blue BFL wool.  It mesures 5" wide and 4" high.  A great little pincushion for your needles.

WOOL FELT FLOWER APPLIQUES

This is a set of 32  wool felt flower shapes in primitive blue,wine,rust and beige colors. The flowers  were die-cut using 100% wool felt that I have on hand in my shop and they come in four sizes: Flowers: 2 5/8", 1 7/8", 1 1/8" and 1/2"  approx. in diameter.
You will be able to mix and match the pieces and make your own embellishments to decorate needle appliques, penny rugs with your wool projects, scrapbook pages, card-making projects, gift tags, a brooch, hair clip and the ideas are endless.

FELTED CARRY ALL

This is a great  bag to hold your rug hooking or needle projects in.  The Carry all is made out of medium weight felted black wool and black nylon lining and has wooden handles.  It has a delicate hand embroidered  flower design on the front.
The dimensions are: 12.5" wide at the top of the bag below the handles and widens out to 16.5" at the bottom. Its 15" high including the handles

FOOTSTOOLS

I have two of these footstools in my shop left over for anyone who would like to hook a small mat and put it on top of a footstool or a stuffed footstool.  Below is an example of a  mat that I hooked, then put on to this foot stool once it was stained.
I believe the wood is  pine and was made by a local gentleman who no longer makes them.

PINCUSHION TUESDAY *** SOLD***

Here is a delicate vintage china cup in a mint green color. There is also cute detailing on the handle with gold trim, including the rim and base.  The tea cup is made in England from A.B.J. Grafton.  The pincushion is needlefelted with  a turquoise color BFL wool.  I tried taking better pictures, but its much prettier in person.  Unfortunatly I just couldn't get the right colors set for this picture.

HOOKED ACADIAN FLAG ***ONLY ONE LEFT NOW***

This mat is hooked on Scottish Burlap using wool materials in antique blue, white, red and gold colors to make it look more primitive. The mat is also whipped with black wool yarn and covered in the back with an old blue woolen blanket.  It mesures about 10 1/2" X 6 1/2" and has an old metal wire to hang it on the wall.

PINCUSHION TUESDAY

This shiny little pincushion in needlefelted with a pretty cobalt blue BFL wool into  a vintage china  Sandland Ware creamer.  Classic off white glaze with hand painted silver trim. There is some crazing as expected in pottery this age.  Silver trim is in very good condition with very little wear. No chips, cracks or repairs. Creamer measures 2 3/4 inches high by 4  3/4 inches long.  My pincushions are not glued in, so can be removed to add to any collection or table setting.
