Hooked rose mat and prim stool

In case your wondering, I am still doing some rug hooking. So here is my latest little project that I worked on over the weekend.  I found this small vintage wooden stool and decided to hook a mat and put it on top. The pattern is a primitive rose that I hooked on Scottish burlap then glued it to the stool.  I  painted the stool with a black paint then scuffed it up to make it look a bit more primitive.  I hope you like it
The measurements are: 12.5" x 9" x 9.5" tall
Its for sale if you want it.

Recycled Wool Skirts For Sale

I'm getting rid of a lot of recycled wool skirts that I have collected for rug hooking but will probably never use, so I"m de-stashing what I can. I'm selling the skirts $2 a piece or for a certain price when bundled together. Most of these skirts are 100% wool or 80%. They are all washed and taken apart and ready to cut and hook with. These skirts are great for over dying or marbleizing with others . If there is a certain color your looking for, just let me know and I may have it. Most of these skirts are primitive colors and great for the old primitive look in your rugs.
I have more skirts that are not in these pictures.

NEW HOOKED PIECE FOR SALE

Here is a small mat I just recently hooked up with yarn on Verel. I found this freebie pattern on a great little pattern site called
hudsonsholidays.blogspot.com
I also had a small wood cutting board that I had repainted to look more primitive. It actually is antique blue but in the photo it looks more antique black. So I glued the mat on to the board so you can hang it up on the wall.
Mesurements are:14" X 7"(cutting board)and 8" X 6"(hooked mat)

Here's an idea what I"ve been up to this weekend, between gardening and getting bitten by the black flies. I think I have enough room on my linen for maybee 2 more circles. When I have a few finished I'll post them to sell here on my selling blog.

PUNCHNEEDLE AND HOOKED CANDLE CUFFS

I hooked up a few primitive candle cuffs last week to put on my selling blog. They mesure roughly 11"X4", hooked on Linen and covered at the back with wool material. They are great to put around the larger candles to cover up the black spots once they have started to burn down and don't look as clean anymore. They are also great just to give that prim hooked look to your candles. The cuff ties at the back with wool yarn and there is a picture to show what that looks like (Prim stars cuff).

Miniature Pictorials with Barb Leduc

I took the day off yesterday to spend some time with my BFF  and take a rug hooking class with some of the local Past Time Matters Rug Hooking group. The class was called small pictorials with Barb Leduc.  Barb is a gal from NS and helped guide us  in doing our pictorials.
We had a choice to do a 4"X6" or a 5"X7" for a mat.  This way it would be easier to put in a frame.  The gals I hooked with are very talented and each one had her own little story to tell in the pictorial.  It was a good day to take off and learn something new.  I won't show you what I hooked just yet because this is a gift for someone.  So until this person receives the gift I won't take a chance on showing it just yet.  But these little mats hook up quickly in a #3 and #4 cut and great for little gifts.  So here are some pics to show you what I did yesterday.

Here is Barb helping out my BFF(Anna) out with her little piping plover.  Anna is not happy with it because it keeps fading into the backround.  I told you to keep that darker blue in there.  But Anna is use to pulling out the wool in her hooking

Here are some of the other gals happily hooking away at their works of art and everyone of them was certainly that.

Here is Margie showing her log cabin.  It was great seeing you again Margie.

Carole hooked a beautiful church.  She's a great hooker.

These are some of Barb's little picorials.

Here's a close up of Anna's little birdie.  She has changed the look of it since and the Plover really stands out now.  Lucky for him because she was going to feed him to the Falcon hovering above if she didn't get it right.

HOOKED FOOTSTOOL

Well its a snowy day here today and its been snowing since yesterday afternoon.  What a great day to get creative.  I've been dabbling a little again at punch needle this morning and will show you what I've been doing.  I have an idea where this is going.

I'm posting the little mat I finished hooking a while back and put it on a small footstool.
The mat is a little design of 2 hearts and leaves and hooked on a #6 cut with wool material.  As you can see the little wooden footstool is a bit worn at the corners wich gives its primitive look.  Mesurements are 14"x7"x8"high
