PINCUSHION TUESDAY

Its that day again, and here is a sweet little vintage creamer from Royal Winton A Grimwades that I needlefelted with a beautifull Royal Blue New Zealand Corriedale Roving that I got from Taossunflower on Etsy.com
The camera doesn't do the color justice but its a very nice blue that goes well with the glazed fllowers on the creamer.  While I was needlefelting this, I noticed a small little chip below the spout but its hard to see.  So you can say that the creamer is in good condition.  Don't forget that all of my pincushions can be removed from the creamer if you wish to use it or admire it as is for the collector.
Mesurements are 4" from spout to handle,  3 1/4" high and 2" deep.

PINCUSHION TUESDAY

Hello everyone, I just want to say a big thank you to Marielle and the girls for inviting me this morning to their hookin.  I took some time off this morning before work and had a great time chatting with the girls.  The time flew by so fast that I just had time to turn around and was back at work again.  I hope to see you girls again next year.  My felted wool dryer balls were a hit, now I have to make more for xmas sales and gifts.
Its Tuesday, so that means its Pincushion time.  I have a cuty tonight to show you. Its a delicate vintage bone china creamer made from Royal Stafford, and has pink flowers on it that look like Mallow.  The creamer itself mesures 3" high and 3 3/4" with the pincushion. Its needle felted with a nice green BFL wool.  All my pincushions can be removed from the creamer for the vintage collector.

SCISSOR FOBS

I'm sorry I haven't been posting lately but have been busy getting ready for a hookin next Tuesday in Grande-Digue, NB.  I"ll be there in the morning hooking with the girls and will bring along my little shop.  So if you need anything, you can always email me and will get things ready for your order.  In the meantime, I thought I would show you something that has to do with my lastest  posting.  What are scissor fobs?  Well you can also call them scissor jewelry.  Scissor fobs are decorative little leashes or tails for attaching to embroidery, and rug hooking  scissors for identification purposes or loss prevention.
Women love jewelry, so I thought I would make these little fobs to go with the scissors I have for sale.

SCISSORS

A new order of scissors just came in and I now have 2 kinds to offer.
The first pair are Ice-tempered stainless steel scissors with curved handles, about 6" long from tip to end.  These scissors are loved by rug hookers because they skim the surface of the rug and makes it easier to cut the tails.  These scissors are also great for quilting & sewing.  They also have a lifetime guarantee.  I'm always selling out so this time I stalked up.

I love these dainty little scissors, so I had to order some.  They are only 3 1/2" long, lavendar color handles and fine point stainless steel with lifetime guarantee.  It also comes with its own leather sheath.  Your going to want to have one of each in your rug hooking or sewing kits.  What great little xmas presents for the needleworker in your life.

Felted Wool Dryer Balls

If you know anybody that use felted wool balls in their dryer instead of fabric sheets or plastic balls, will tell you how much it helps with the drying time, static cling and the Environemnt! I have been using my Dryer Balls for over a year now and they still work.  The Dryer Balls are felted with 100% wool.  Here is a little bit of information that I found on the internet about dryer sheets.

Facts:

Dryer sheets and fabric softeners coat the fibers of your clothing, inhibiting their ability to breath and/or absorb.
Dryer sheets and fabric softeners contain these chemicals:
Benzyl acetate: Linked to pancreatic cancer • Benzyl Alcohol: Upper respiratory tract irritant • Ethanol: On the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Hazardous Waste list and can cause central nervous system disorders • Alpha-Terpineol: Can cause respiratory problems, including fatal edema, and central nervous system damage • Ethyl Acetate: A narcotic on the EPA's Hazardous Waste list • Camphor: Causes central nervous system disorders • Chloroform: Neurotoxic, anesthetic and carcinogenic • Linalool: A narcotic that causes central nervous system disorders • Pentane: A chemical known to be harmful if inhaled

Dryer Sheets take years to break down in the land fill.

Dryer Balls create loft in the dryer allowing the heat to distribute more evenly, hence reducing drying time, hence reducing electrical use, hence reducing carbon foot print AND electric bills!

Dryer Balls @ $12 a package, with a minimum life of 1 year, used several times a week for 50 weeks of a  year cost less then standard dryer sheets and definetly less then the more earth friendly dryer sheets.

Plastic dryer balls are, PLASTIC and can  damaging the sensors inside their dryer.

Wool Dryer Balls are much quieter then the plastic ones.

First snowfall and primitive rose mat finished

We had our first official snowfall of the year here today.  I think we got about 5cm and what a pretty day it was out there.  Here are a couple of pics that I took today around the firepit.  We always enjoy a Saturday afternoon fire outside and even better when its snowing.  The first pic is around 4;30pm and the second one is about an hour later.  I also finished the primitive rose beginner mat tonight and thought I would show you how it came out.  I think it will go on my little wooden bench.

Here are some BFL dyed tops that I have in gorgeous colors.
Blue-faced Leicester:  Long staple BFL is easy to spin, has a lovely sheen, and is nearly as soft as merino and also great for needle or wet felting.
